I purchased an A2, and I was looking at mounting options for an optical set-up. I have seen plenty of the mounts that sit on top of the carry handle, but I ma worried about adjusting for the added height over the barrel. | That "gooseneck" mount is what you want if you are goinna stick with the A2 upper. I don't own a solid A2 upper & I prefer flat tops. I've shot some AR's belonging to friends with the gooseneck & it serves its intended purpose. You can mount optics to the top of the carry handle if you wish, but I personally don't like having to change my stock weld to the height of the optic when on the carry handle top. Search the tacked pic threads & you'll find a few AR's with a similar mount to the one you're inquiring about. |

MY FAVORITE AIMPOINT SET UP! was on my OLD A1 SHORTY with arms 39 goosenck,QRP and ML2 aimpoint ANY red dot sight is BETTER served sitting past the DELTA RING YOU get alot better view and its Very FAST I miss my A1`s Now Im running a LMT 14.5 FLAT TOP Defender 2000 M4 with a LARUE cantilever & aimpoint ML2 Also a LMT M4 14.5 on my old bushmaster lower and a 551 eotech Now if they made a eotech mount that stuck it way over the delta ring
