[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Carry Handle Mount with compact ACOG

I know not all carry handles are created equal what is the best for a solid fit with the compact (1.5X) ACOG? Which ones should I avoid? Also, does this configuration make the ACOG too high, say as compared to the high mount for the speical ring compact ACOG? Thanks

Wait, you have a flat top upper, but you want a carry handle to mount an optic on? Why in the world would you want to do that rather than just using a flat top mount?

compact acogs with integrated CH mount sit as low as possible on the CH.
so far I havent noticed any differences beetween 3 detachable and 1 fixed CH with my TA44...the scope fit tight in all of them.

Just stay with a carry handle from any of the main companies and you’ll be fine. Good ones can be found on the EE for $50+, less if you really look. Compact ACOGs on the carry handle work extremely well.

The reason I ask is I have a trijicon brand (special ring) high mount for my ACOG this is a solid piece with no way to use the irons without removing the the entire scope. The 1.5X magnification makes it impossible to co-witness. I'm assuming regular built-in irons are usable in conjunction with the handle mount with the added protection of the handle grove. Right?

Yes. And that special ring base is “short bus special”

and really limits your options.

ETA: You can get the MM01 mount and it will let you mount it like the "M16 base" / carry handle mount.
