I have a removable carry handle for my AR.
I picked up a Pro-Mag rail insert for it so I could mount a scope on the top of the carry handle. Will I be able to remove my BUIS, and Holo sight then install the carry handle set up and go back to the other set up at my will, and maintain zero?

It came with my Bushmaster , and the screw seems good and tight. I will be putting some blue lock-tite on it after I choose a scope. Why not just get a scope designed for carry handle use since you want to mount optics on the carry handle? Because optics like this will have an integrated base designed specifically to fit the carry handle channel and are see-through to allow irons. The base allows the optic to sit lower than a scope on a rail. |

However if I want to take the scope and put it on another rifle than the handle must go to.
I do not want to brake the bank. I am thinking 100 yrds if I get more than that out of it that is fine too. Give me some input. |

I've heard good things about the Burris AR-332, at least when it's put in a grnuine Trijicon or LaRue mount (or a carry handle, I imagine). Primary Arms also makes a 3x red dot designed to mount atop a carry handle. |

Getting a good return to zero is possible using the detachable catty handle by doing the following: tighten down the nuts.by hand as much as possible, then using a quarter or screwdriver tighten the nuts another 1/4 turn give or take. Then use a paint pen to make "witness" marks, a line on the nut and the receiver. Then when the carry handle is removed and reinstalled, just use the same t-marks and tighten untill the witness marks are lined up. That being said, using a LaRue/ADM type mount on the flatop is the best way to go of course. However, I have used ACOGs mounted in carryhandles for years and have zero issues with that and having the irons instantly avaiable is a nice perk for close range. |

That was what I was looking for some that had a system tried it and had success with it. I will implement it and report back. You'll have to re-zero the optic either way.
