cdnn investment has some $49.99 Carry handle they also have a colt factory Carry handle for $79.99 |
I'm not aware of a CH from any of the major brands that aren't quality or that won't get the job done. IIRC, just like most lowers & uppers on the market, they come from a hand full of forgeries that the ABC's buy from & have finished into the end product for sale under that brand's name. Looking for one with a forge mark or one that you know comes from one of the major AR brands if your best bet but the majority of the time you will pay more than $75. Not always. Just don't buy one the Airsoft makes or one of the examples from eBay that come from China. They are like pot metal or some trash & aren't of very good quality IMO. I look for discount prices on a name brand but if I have to pay the premium price for something I know works then I pay the premium. |
Except that DPMS, and I have heard but haven't confirmed Rock River, put out handles with 1 minute instead of 1/2 minute elevation clicks, but use the range scale for the 1/2 minute clicks. In other words the range scale is useless on these pieces.

Both items get the job done equally. It comes down to what do you want on your rifle and how much do you want to spend. As posted earlier you can find carrying handles for $75 or less, flip up rear sights or fixed rear sight typically goes for a bit more (can't figure that one out). |
That's your preference. While I own a carry handle, I don't use it & it's sits in the gear bag in case my optics & buis's were to all go down. If you're going to run an optic it's a lot more pratical & user friendly to mount them onto a flat top upper receiver & have a buis sit behind the optic in case your optic fails. If you're only going to use irons then the carry handle will work fine. I prefer flat tops with optics & buis's but that's just me. |
Isn't that one of the 'China' ones? I gave up awhile back but am in the market again. When I find them by 'name brand' they are $100. All the cheaper prices don't have names listed. I've heard about 'pot' metal and crappy sights that are not correct or don't hold. How can the carry handle cost the same as a stripped lower, the actual gun? Stupid. |

I'm not a big fan of carry handles, so my CMMG M4 got a RRA stand alone BUIS when it first showed up, and now has an Aimpoint as well. Love to do the same to my 6721LE eventually, but that would make the thing too heavy....so it's stuck with it's carry handle for now. The 6920LE is a bit lighter and is just crying out for some thing to replace that yukkie handle ! I will admit that the handle becomes more palatable once you ditch those obnoxious gigondo knobs off the port side. I did it with 10/32 poly nuts and washers; YEA !!! |
