Okay, please clear up a little confusion for me. A while back, I purchased a flat top Bushmaster with a 20" heavy barrel. I am going to scope it, so I am wondering if I can use the carry handle on one of my other rifles, which would be a carbine. Probably a Colt upper.
To be clear, the rifle is a factory A2 style Bushmaster, with the exception of it having a flat top upper and it came with a carry handle. |

Depends on the scope you have/are buying. Putting a sight on top of the carrying handle will require a ton of MOA adjustment I believe. What are you talking about? I am not putting a scope on a fixed carry handle. This rifle came with a removable carry handle, and I want to know if I can use that handle on a carbine length AR. |

Rifle carrying handles are calibrated at 800 meter while the carbines are 600 meter. Not sure if it will work but I think it would. Shoot it to make sure. i thought all the removable handles were 600m and the A2's were 800m? i've never seen a rifle only carry handle. |

(I did a little research...)The A2 rifles have 800 meter sights, but the A4 rifles with the detachable carry handles only are calibrated to 600 meters is that there isn't room for the adjustment screw to take it all the way out to 800. If you look into the bottom of an A2 upper receiver, you'll see that the adjustment screw extends down almost to the channel that the charging handle rides in. There isn't room for this on a flattop upper. There would have to be a hole in the upper for this screw. |
