Did a search and couldn't find anything. I'm using BH 75 Gn BTHP for CQB range encounters. I know the primers are waterproofed, and the case necks are not, per Jeff at BH. So, anyone know the best way to waterproof the case neck? From the examples I've seen in the Ammo Oracle, water definitely finds its way through the case neck when a round is submerged. Thanks for your replies! Tack |

Primer Sealant Bullet and Primer sealer ![]() Gotta seal both if you want to protect the powder from moisture. Shok |
-------------------------- Or go to the local "dollar" store or Walmart and buy the exact same bottle of stuff marked fingernail polish for about a buck fifty and no shipping. I have that exact bottle, color and size that I bought for 39cents at an Ocean State Job Lot store and it contains the same ingredients........lacquer! and it comes in many different colors too. Cabelas has some deals.....but that sure as hell isn't one of them. |

There is NO way to effectively seal an ASSEMBLED CARTRIDGE!! PERIOD. Military sealant is applied on the INSIDE of the primer pocket walls, and the INSIDE of the case neck during production. The nail polish crap is a waste of time and money. Plus, I wouldn't want that crap gunking up my chamber or bore. The sealant used for the case necks in military ammo is a tar like substance that is set up inside the brass so that most of it sticks on the brass and doesn't end up smearing down your bore. |
