Are these parts meant to be cast or should they be forgings?  I found a "deal" but they are clearly cast parts.

I have been building AR's for quite a few years and have never seen a forged hammer or trigger.  They are all heat-treated investment castings.

What "sear" are you referring to?  Auto sear?  GI auto sears are formed out of punched and formed sheet.

My mistake, I meant disconnector, but that is just in the parts bag.  The hammer and trigger were the parts I was looking closely at.  If cast is not a big deal I won't worry about it.

I wouldn't worry about using investment cast triggers and hammers so long as the case hardening (surface hardness)on the sear surfaces is adequate and the trigger feel does not become "notchy" with age and rounds fired.
