I have an un staked castle nut that every so often comes loose.  Will loctite fix this?  If so how much should I use?  Thanks.

Torque it to spec...then stake it with a punch (do not use loctite).  It's caveman simple!

I just torque to spec and never had a problem.  I don't stake it.

I took it off a staked BCM lower that I replaced with an A2 stock.  I then put it on a Stag lower for a Franken gun and the nut won't turn all the way to line up with the stakes. Should I keep pushing it?

Torque to spec, then apply stake.

The previous marks will usually not line up.

Follow the instructions below with the exception of the torque value.  It should be 38-42 lb/ft not lb/in.

Post pics of your rifle after you re-torque and stake it.

As noted, the previous stakes will almost NEVER line up,  That's just fine.

Use a new end plate, torque to spec, and stake the end plate. The castle nut should not be deformed and should be able to be reused if torqued and staked correctly. Good luck!

This. Where the notches are in the castle nut will dictate where you will stake it. I use a spring loaded center punch, just push metal into the recess in the nut. All it needs is enough it won't vibrate loose. You don't need to make it super tight either, I just use one of those little wrenches with the 1911 bushing wrench on one end and car stock spanner on the other.
The reason not to use loctite is that I did once and when I decided to change stocks the tube turned with the nut and the locating tab on the end plate FUBARed the tube threads.
