Ceiner accuracy > Rimfire and Pistol Calibers

First I wanted to thank everyone for the valuable info I have received in the past few months. I am still a fairly new AR owner and am still learning.
I bought a Ceiner conversion for my Bushy Car-15 2 months ago. The rifle seems to like CCI mini mag. 40gr. the best. I just shot a ten shot, 1 inch group at 50yds. last week. Next week I am ordering a Chip McCormick trigger from Brownells and see if I can do better.
The problem I have with the Ciener is that to remove it, I have to use a wood dowel and a hammer to tap it out of the upper.( I did lube the heck out of it.) It is a little stiff installing, but I can push it in with my thumb. Does anyone think this could cause any wear problems on my upper? I wonder if the good accuracy is from the tight fit.

Mine is accurate enough. I am not being a smart ass, I am just saying that for what I wanted it for, blasting and close training, it does the job very well.

Within 50 yards it is pretty much as accurate as I can be with a red dot and I am shooting some CRAP ammo.

That is VERY good from .22s in a .223 barrel. You should be happy!

Mine goes in easy enough but it takes some work getting the conversion back out. It does shoot very good though.

I have several uppers and the ceiner fits tight in one of the uppers. I've had to lightly tap it
to get it to seat. You also have to pull pretty hard on the charging handle to get it out of the upper. It functions very good and have seen no adverse wear. I'd say probably only a couple thousandths difference. I just lube Ceiner with clp before inserting in the upper.

My 16" Spike's 1x16 barrel with modified Ciener will shoot 3" five shot groups at 50 yards.

My friend's 20" Colt 1x12 barrel with stock Ciener kit will shoot 2" five shot groups at 50 yards.

Both of these are the best results of a variety of ammo.

Your friend's gun is shooting about par for the course with that combination.

Your Spike's, however, is not. If it were mine, Mr. Spike would be getting the opportunity to see if he could do better. A dedicated .22 AR upper with a proper .22 barrel should be shooting into 1" at 50 yards with plinker-grade ammo--or better.

Thanks for the info on the tight fitting Ciener kits. It looks like the accuracy of my kit on my Bushmaster is better than most. I just got in 2 Blackdog mags ( new style) from 44mag and my Chip McCormick trigger is due Thurs. from Brownells. I'll let you know the results when I get a chance to get to the range.
