The alignment pin is a $2 add on and upon installation of the handguard you just insert it into the hole in the receiver and then line it up with the channel in the upper receiver. I didn't pay a lot of attention to it while installing it, regrettably, and it was snug sliding over the barrel nut as usual when installing a handguard so I didn't notice anything different. But I would think, or hope, that with Centurions reputation that it would serve a valid purpose. There is a groove in the barrel but to keep the handguard from sliding forward or aft. There's a tabbed key that you slide in and it picks up the two attach bolts. The tab is what keep it from moving. |

 My same Colt model CR6960 midlength gas system carbine that I posted before with upgraded Centurion CMR 13.5" handguard and now with new Scalarworks Peak 02 rear folding iron sight.  My same Colt 6920 M4 carbine with Colt LE6920-EPR CK (made in 2019) older Centurion previous model 13.5" handguard now with new Magpul TMAG translucent 30 rd mag that was released last month October. |

I believe it should, but that is not the same thing as having actually built it up and done it. |

Hydrodipping involves a lot of surface prep, the weapon has to be taken field stripped, and all parts disassembled. Everything is degreased, blasted, then degreased again. The primary components are coated with multiple light coats, then dipped, and then multiple coats of 2 part automotive grade finish (matte). It gives a very durable finish. The key to cerakote, or hydrodipping is in the prep. It isn't like you just dunk something and its done. |
