Anyone use one of these? I'm looking to try something in 12.5 and see how much more velocity I get with 77g ammo.
The tabbed gas block seems like a simple but great idea. Would be shooting suppressed most of the time. |

My buddy has one on his sbr. It is very accurate. I don't have any idea on velocity though. It is a quality barrel.

I have the 12.5” CHF barrel. Haven’t done any formalized accuracy testing, but zeroing and velocity testing show it to be a MOA shooter with my 77gr TMK handloads (pre-developed moderate load, so not worked up for this specific gun/barrel).
Some velocity comparison for you: Magtech 5.56 77gr SMK (factory): 11.5” SR-15 @ 70* F ambient x5 shot avg: 2381fps 12.5” Centurion @ 85* F ambient x10 shot avg: 2516fps 77gr TMK HL (WG Brass, 23.2gr 8208XBR): 11.5” SR-15 @ 70* F ambient x5 shot avg: 2372fps 12.5 Centurion @ 85* F ambient x10 shot avg: 2466fps |

I have a build in progress using this barrel and the centurion pinned gas block. They are on sale now for $140, you should go for it.

View Quote That sale is why I'm leaning that way. I just removed the front sight base gas block on a 16" PSA upper I had lying around and put on an Expo Arms low pro gas block and UTG Pro Arwen M-lok rail. It shoots really well, and assembling to spec with a torque wrench wasn't difficult. I think it created a monster though. I finished up two lowers I had in the parts bin, and have a Geissele upper and charging handle coming today from the 4th of July sale. A blem rail already arrived, and a Geissele gas block is ordered so I can build a Blemula upper. There's two uppers left in my parts bin, so...... Attached File Attached File |

I’m a bit behind on my 12.5. I stocked up on some xm68gd ammo instead of buying parts. I did get a blem geisselle trigger for it during the last sale. I’m waiting for the centurion blem quad rails to be back in stock. |

I did order one. The smaller gas port size and sale price pushed me over the edge, as it will be used suppressed almost 100% of the time.

Centurion barrels are GTG. Love the one I have on my main AR

Ordered on the weekend, shipping notification Monday morning. Gotta love that, especially since I opted to try their "tabbed and pinned" gas block and it says possible 2-4 weeks for any barrel ordered with "options."

I just ordered one of these Centurion Arms 12.5 barrels. I have one of their 14.5 CroMoV SOCOM barrels and it has performed very well over the past year.

View Quote Congratulations. I assembled my 12.5" today after my rail was delivered and took it to an indoor range right by my house to check function and zero a 3x micro prism I took off my 16" AR. It was nuts on at 25 yards. The target is 15 shots right handed and 15 left handed. Not gassy with my Polonium on it. Good ejection. I'm glad I went with one. It's a handy SOB with the can on it. I'm glad to hear that it works well with the Polonium suppressor, since mine will have a RC-2 hanging from the end of it. I use my Griffin Armament Recce 5 on my other 12.5 upper since it has a Geissele barrel and was overgassed with the RC-2. Tracking info says I should have my barrel by Tuesday, so fingers crossed. I want to have built up and zeroed by next weekend for a daytime and nighttime 2 Gun match. |

If it does well at 100 yards outside today after golf, I'm going to use it on my run at Heartland this week. Gotta love the gun club being right by the golf course |

Well, it shot almost MOA at 100 yards with AAC 77g OTM and a PA 3x micro prism.
I'm more than happy with it. Attached File |
