| I have an PSA upper with a 16 in heavy barrel mid length gas tube and Factory installed front site. My question is can I remove the Barrel and replace it with a light weight barrel. And will the barrel nut and wave washers and delta washer work with the light weight barrel |

And will the barrel nut and wave washers and delta washer work with the light weight barrel Yes. If you get a mid length light weight barrel, then you can reuse the gas tube. You will have to take off the front sight post of the old barrel to remove the delta ring, "wave washers" and barrel nut. It will come off as one assembly together due to it being held together by a snap ring. If your new barrel has a front sight post then you will have to take it off to install the delta ring barrel nut assembly. |

If the new barrel has a factory front sight post installed, then more than likely it will have the barrel nut already on it. If so then you have to disassemble the delta ring, spring washer by taking off the snap ring and reinstalling it on the new barrel nut.
If you posted pictures of your old barrel and the one you want, then we could guide you a little better. If you are planning on free floating the new barrel, then depending on the type of rail you want, it could come with its own proprietary barrel nut. You would also need a new gas block for the new barrel if you go this route. |
| Thank you guys. I know I'll have to remove the "old " front sight to get the parts off but I didn't know if all the other parts would work on a lightweight barrel. Plus I'll have to get another front sight @.625(I think that's right). 'Cause iron sights don't fail . Not sure on hand guards yet, will cross that bridge when I get to that point |

If the barrel you buy doesn't come with the front sight, you will have to drill the taper pin holes in a new front sight and the barrel. |

Remove the barrel and send it to ADCO Firearms to be re-profiled. If you know the barrel has a lot of life left in it will be cheaper to have him just shave a pound off it.
His fees are listed online. You can remove metal from under the handguard, you can remove metal ahead of the front sight post or you can do both. He will also thread the muzzle for a flash hider for $65.00. Parkerizing is included in the cost of service. If it's a stainless steel barrel you can have it blasted to a matte finish or a colored finished applied. Great company with fantastic turn around times. |

Most will just pull the barrel and use it on anther build. the price these days for a barrel, gas block and foregrip ar pretty reasonable. Most free float rails use their own proprietary barrel nut and separate gas block, so you will need those new if you use a barrel without factory sights. This link to a Brownell's vid might be helpful. |
| The images on this vid are clearer. They show the delta ring process clearly. |
