Hey, just got my Piston Upper from Aim Surplus. It is a Rainier Arms upper with an Adams Arms Piston system. It goes onto my ATI Omni lower (Yeah, I know, plastic.) The two meet up together and locks up tighter than a nun's chuff, abso-fucking-lutely no slack whatsoever.

However, when I rack the charging handle back, I notice 4/5 times the charging handle slips over the ledge of which it catches and pulls the BCG by the Cam pin instead. This results in the BCG and CH getting stuck and it won't go further more than an inch. Mortaring it didn't do anything (Keep in mind, I mortared it multiple times before I found out that the CH caught the Cam pin.) the BCG is Adams Arms and the CH is a run of the mill charging handle (or so it looks.)

For the Lazy readers; Charging handle catches Cam Pin most of the time. Should I switch charging handles and see if anything changes or what?

Edit: Also, can't get pics. Camera is broken and the iPotatoe can't take photos.

I'd try a different charging handle. AA (the base for that rifle) is notorious for using the crappiest (6061) charging handles they can source and have had numerous complaints about them chipping, marring the uppers, etc.
I'm not sure if yours came with an AA CH, but if so, ditch that one and get something else. I run two AA's and swapped out for Raptor CH's. Well worth the $!

No discernible markings present on the CH.

Guess I'm shit outta luck and gotta change them out.

You may want to contact Rainier first. Their CS is very good, from what I hear.

Rainier arms seems to have top notch CS service, I'm sure they will set things right.

Ok, just got a MS Paint photo of what is going on with the charging handle.

It would slip most of the time. Dunno how to fix the alignment issue though...

AA's BCG's are extremely well made, their charging handles... not so much. I'd contact Rainier. They'll probably swap out your charging handle with a REAL one (not the crappy 6061 that AA uses).

Yep, fixed the problem with some gorilla tape as I stated in my first build post. It'll survive until I get a replacement.
