| Planning on a PA scope and ambi CH. Narrowed it down to either the Geissle Super Charging Handle and AXTS Raptor. I already own a BCM which works well. |
| I have both and prefer the Raptor. Something about the Geissele latches. Maybe they are too small for me or it's the curvature of the latches... I just feel like I can't get a good purchase on them compared to the Raptor latches. Both work just fine but I feel more comfortable working the Raptor. |
| +1 for the Raptor. I tried the G super charging handle, and I went back to the Raptor. The raptor just has more smoothed out edges and feels more refined. I didn't like the curvature of the G super charging handle's latches (which stuck out like hooks ready to snag on everything and just seemed overly aggressive). They're both REALLY nice, but for the same cost, I'd go Raptor. |
| Definitely the Raptor. Have 3 of them, about to buy a fourth so all my ARs have one. Hands down, better than the BCM and Geissele IMO. Obviously it comes down to personal preference though. See if there's a way to try about multiple charging handles before you settle on one. |

I've had the Raptor before and really liked it, in a perfect world it would be the standard CH in all my rifles. But I don't care enough about it to justify that kind of cost for a CH. A $40 BCM is plenty for me, ideally with the regular medium latch (though I have all three sizes).
Heck, my non-suppressed 12.5 still uses a USGI. Somehow it works just fine, as did the USGI I was issued. Yes, I know about the described issues people describe having with them. All I can say is I never saw it personally in either civilian or military life, so ymmv, and if you have the coin by all means spring for the raptor and you won't be disappointed. |

Although I already voted for Raptor (my favorite), I forgot to add... the griffin armament SNACH CH is decent and has slightly larger handles. They are squared off, so offer more purchase area on the handles. I have one on my scoped AR, and I like it for that. For anything non scoped, I prefer the sleeker/low drag shape of the Raptor. Just wanted to add in the SNACH, since I hadn't seen it mentioned, but it's also a nice CH for it's purpose.
ETA: I do not like curved latches. They are like hooks that snag on everything. That's why I prefer the flat handles (such as on Raptor and SNACH) and why I disliked the G Super (I wanted to like it, but just couldn't deal with the "hook" shape of the latches, otherwise a nice CH). |

Have any off you guys tried the Mega slide-lock charging handles yet? Just curious where they fall into on your list since they aren't much more then a BCM and I kinda like the idea of no latches. I haven't read much if anything on here about them so figured I'd ask in this thread.
I don't have a whole lot of experience with the newer charging handles out as most everything I have used was always stock GI CH's except for more recently I really like the Mod 3 BCM ones. But I have been thinking about trying a couple of the Mod4s since the Mod3 can catch on stuff fairly easily. I really hate to pay the price of a Raptor, perhaps I will try one some day to see how I like it and if it does feel better to me then just keep it in my main go to AR. Edited to add - I often find myself charging my BCM mod3's with my left hand only and it is very comfortable that way with the large latch. Instead of the typical 2 hand going down and back approach, I just do the 1 hand going back on the left side. Not sure if anyone else does this but it feels better and faster to me with the BCM 3's. That's one reason I hate to go with a smaller latch. |

Raptor, if not running a can. The Raptor-SD, formerly the Freedom bone, was made for supressed use Agree. Same design, extrardinary ergonomics and function, but with gas vents. No need to incur the extra cost over the bssic model if you do not plan on running a can. That was my point. |
