I took my AR to the range for the second time yesterday and began having a frustrating problem.  I inserted a full magazine (30rd PMAG) pulled the charging handle fully to the rear and released it, however the bolt carrier would not go into battery.  If I did this without a magazine inserted, everything was fine, but with a full magazine, the forward travel of the bolt was noticeably slower, as if it were dragging on something.  It also occurred using the bolt release following a magazine change.  A few good thump on the forward assist and all 30 rounds fired without problem.  It was only when loading a full mag.  It happened with all 6 PMAGS.  This did not happen on my previous (first with this rife) range trip.

Here's my build:

Mega Lower
RRA LPK
ADDAX ATAC upper
Magpul CTR Mil-spec

Thanks in advance for any help!

Did you try under loading your mags? 28 instead of 30 rounds.

I just tried that tonight, loading only 20 rounds.  I thoroughly cleaned and oiled (I don't have a chamber brush yet, but inspection looked pretty good, being a piston and all).  Minor brass shavings and one small area of finish wear inside the upper.  Still functions fine on empty mag or with out mag.
