I purchased a bravo company upper and charging handle several weeks ago. I am finally getting the rest of my parts to finish putting this gun together.

I tried to put my charging handle in the upper and it is insanely tight. I grabbed the charging handle out of my RRA and tried it and it was very tight but not as tight as my new charging handle. Grabbed the PRI gas buster out of my wifes LMT and it works fine in my BCM. Also tried my new charging handle in the LMT and it was too tight there.

How common is this type of charging handle issue?

I want a pri gas buster for this upper so I will just go ahead and get one. Just curious about this issue.

Is it so tight you can't pull it back to load the weapon? FWIW it will get better with time and use.

When putting the charging handle in I line up the notch where the charging handle is supposed to slide down into place and I have to get something that I can push it into place. Then when trying to pull the charging handle it feels just awful. A metal to metal kind of grinding.

I will measure my charging handle tonight and see what the difference is.

I have a friend looking for a charging handle so he will probably take this one if it fits his upper correctly and I will just get a new one.

My BCM upper had the same issue.  Only the new charging handle was tight, a little CLP helped.

It will lock when I pull it back and let it slam home. Like agentile said, it will loosen up over time.
