| I need a cheap 2pt sling for my S&W MP15-22, dont want to drop $40 on a .22 sling. I found this one at DSGarms and it looks like what I need. Does anyone know if I would have to buy any special mounting hardware to go with this or is it gtg? http://dsgarms.com/ProductInfo/BFCS-AR-OD.aspx |

Why not find an inexpensive airsoft knockoff of the real-deal sling you like? If there ever was a legitimate use for airsoft stuff on a real firearm, the M&P-22 is it. BTW, another member here posted basically the same question a few days ago, and someone recommended the same thing. Also, Magpul may make the PTS version of their MS2 sling; it's worth a look. |

BB223, thanks alot! I will be using your set-up except I'll put a QD on the rear too, just for kicks. I'd probably order another foot or so of 1.5" webbing if that's what you're planning. You won't need to use 1" webbing to attach the rear buckle, so using 1.5" to attach it would be your best bet. |

Make your own. I made a 3 point sling for my rifle for $15 or so. Strapworks has kits or you can order the parts separate. I luckily have a surplus store near me that had everything I needed.
Also directions on how to make a sling are in the sling sections of this forum. |

Why make your own, when you can have a tough as nails Boonie Packer sling for a dollar or two more, unless you want to make it in a special color. Black has always been good for me though, since my rifles are black. That's just my opinion. |

Quoted: Unless you just enjoy making things on your own. And I did save about $6. No, its not much, especially when you are building a $1400 rifle. But hell, sometimes its fun to make things on your own and its always a good conversation starter at the least. Building your own is also a cheap way to see what style you like, before you buy that style in a high quality version. Post a picture when you're done building that sling.

I'll be sure to do that, unfortunately it will be Thanksgiving before I can do so. Might even try to put a step-by-step "how to make a 2 pt. sling" together |
