Awhile back someone posted a link to a place that had standard A2 kits for under 400.00. Can someone please repost that link.

Thanks

del-ton has a kit for $465

model 1 sales has a kit for $470

these are the cheapest I know of, just add a stripped lower and you are good to go

ps, best reports about del-ton, M1S has less positive feedback from what I've read here

Just looked in my shotgun news magazine...Sherluk.com has E2 rifle and CAR Kits for 424.95$  I dont know how they are though. They were at a recent gun show in my area and they seemed to have nice stuff.  Because of their prices, I am opt to build a cheap AR plinker.

Try akpartskits.com I think it's Hesse or Vulcan....same thing.  I've seen them run from 360 to 420 average

I searched them for a while looking at saving a few bucks and I really want to say avoid them if you can afford anything better.  I know saving money for a plinker seems fine now but I really think the price difference is worth the quality difference, not to mention customer service.

In life, you get what you pay for.  You could build a really nice rifle for a couple of hundred more and be happy with it for the long haul.

I'd stick with Del Ton or J&T if I was getting a kit gun.

This is the third one of these, I'm thinking this is really just an ad post in disguise.

If you mean the original poster, that's not the case.

I hope you're right. I'm a total n00b as well but when I went into it I was looking for the best price for quality. I realize others may have other perspectives so more power to them.

My plan is to build 3 to 4 or more rifles... One of them will be on a Mega and I know you have/had them. I also want a LAR lower with the bear if I can get/find one in Washington...

I want a cheap kit to learn on so if I screw up no big deal... I will them most likely get a kit form Del Ton.

I know about you get waht you pay for... since I just got my M14S back from Fulton...

Its your money and if you would rather a cheap gun now and a nicer one later thats up to you.  But I dont see a point in waiting or getting a beginner rifle if you already have more planned and sound like money wont be an issue for them.  What are you afraid of with this one that you would want to do it on the cheap?  The uppers come ready to mount to your lower straight out of the box.  There is nothing to screw up.  If you are afraid of scratching a lower installing the lpk then just get a cheap lower and a decent upper(again assuming you have the money).  These rifles arent like cars where there is a learning curve that could result in a worthless piece of scrap.  Again though if you are willing to scrap quality for price and thats what you want who am I to talk you out of it.  Im going to see if I can find that thread on the guy who built one with one of the akparts.com kits.  It seemed like everything worked for him but the finish on everything was worthless.  Time to go searching.
