I recently posted a thread in the AR Basics forum on a cheap, rugged AR to carry while I fish in boats, kayaks, and land. Also to carry while camping, hiking, in the car, home defense, etc. I would like to get opinions and suggestions on what route I should go if I decide to go with an AR pistol. I am trying to keep it as cheap as possible. I will most likely sell my Benelli SuperNova to purchase this. The Benelli doesn't get much use, since I use my automatic shotty instead, and I can get around $500 for it. So that is my budget. Give or take around $100. If building is the cheapest route, so be it. If complete build is the cheapest, even better.
What do you guys have to say? |

PSA was recently having a sale on 10.5" uppers w/o bcg and ch for $200 and 10.5" uppers with bcg/ch and pistol lower build kit for $400.
AndroCorp was (I think still is) selling 7.5" uppers with BA barrels, bcg, and ch for $325 shipped on the EE. For a cheap build, it would be hard to beat those prices. |

PSA has an 11.5" upper with BCG and charging handle for $270 and free shipping right now. Free shipping end today though.

Thanks for the info on the Androcorp upper - the deal is still going and I should have mine in a few days! |
