Few days back I got some cheapo mags. I know they are aluminum, they're black and don't seem to stay locked in place when in the rifle. Please tell this is because of them being POS mags and not a bad lower. My lower is a Stag, and it really looks top notch. If this is the case I will shit can them and order some P-mags.

Do you have other mags or are these the first ones you've ever bought?  Try some different mags first.

This problem occurs in mags with too tight a tollerance in their max capacity load. Are you loading 30 rounds or 31 or 29? A lot of ARFCOMer's use 29 rounds in 30 PMAG's for example for easier lock up.

It's a huge problem in the .308 world and sometimes in .223 you see the same thing. I don't really see lock up as the problem with cheap mags. The problem is typically with the follower and feeding/jams caused by POS mags. That's were you'll see if they are true POS mags or not.

Are you smacking the bottom of the mag to seat the mag?
