Cheep scopes are OK for .22's, but often can't stand the sharp recoil of higher calibers.

I remember a Tasco scope I had years ago on a .243. After about 50 rounds the  objective lens and assocated parts went flying off the gun and on to the ground.

If you can afford it, spend over $100, and preferable $200 on the scope.

Doug (who has a closet full of cheap scopes that I don't use anymore)

Would you rather have one good scope that will last a lifetime or a drawer full of cheapies (like me)that have never lived up to expectations?  Buy as much scope as you can reasonably afford even if this means waiting and saving. Patience, like a good scope is a virtue!

I bought a VOLMZ Russian 8X56 scope. It has "SUPER CLEAR" bright optics With the droginov retical & range finder for like $90. four years ago. Iv had it mounted to a Cetme two FAL's with no problems. I got it from a Fal Files vendor.

A buddy of mine liked it and wanted one. The vendor was out. So we found him one at Kalinka Optics for a few bucks less. Identical in every way. Only a few months later his went BLURY Mine has been steller.

And thats all I have to say about that.
