| I am considering a cheek pad for my collapsable stock, I would prefer to upgrade to a new stock but budgetary restraints, etc. I use a red dot sight, so is there an issue with different heights? I looked ar CAA but I see some less tha positive comments regarding their products in the forum. |
| I think CAA is our only option for a cheek pad on the stock 6 position collapsible stock. I just ordered the CAA risers that sit above the buffer tube, both were too high for my flattop mounted scope. A buddy has the CAA stock saddle with the battery compartment, that's what I need to order. The older ones were all plastic, the newer ones all appear to have a rubberized covering. It just snaps on but it's pretty solid. That and a rubber butt pad are about the only improvements I've seen. |

| are you talking about the CAA stock saddle (which mimicks a SOPMOD stock) or the cheeck risers? i have the saddle on my stock and love it. definately helped me with more consistant cheek placement. well made, went together nicely, and didn;t have to pay $200 for a SOPMOD. it does not interfere with the charging handle or any other operation at all as it doesn't sit above the stock. |

Magpul and VLTOR (several models) both makes stocks that have nice cheek welds without paying the price of the SOPMOD. I've used a SOPMOD and like it a lot but it is expensive. I've got a couple different VLTOR's and they are very comfortable but as several have said their design doesn't take into consideration a guy who wears a beard. It could pull whiskers. I would buy the VLTOR again. I'm sure I've read on Magpul's site that the Magpul saddles that fit the MOE and CTR aren't designed for the AR as they will interfere with the charging handle. I have zero experience with the CAA other than what I've read. I've seen more negative reviews on the quality than positive.
