Did they make chrome bolts for the early XM16E1 rifles with parkerized extractors?  Thought I saw  pictures of one on AR15.com of some or was that just my bad eyes!

Thanks

I've got one like that, but to be honest, I assume someone simply replaced the extractor at some point over the past 50 years.

later pieces w/ earlier parts are possible but earlier pieces w/ later parts usually mean replacement.

I've got a SP1 BCG with parkerized carrier, chrome gas key, parked cam pin, chrome bolt, with a parked extractor, came out of the upper that way.

It was all original?

Just saw this so I guess they did make some with parkerized extractors.

It came out of a complete SP1 upper, I was the second owner and the old man I got it from said he never fired it. I missed out on a few complete lowers that day by a few minutes. The gun shop wasn't interested in the uppers, they wanted the preban lowers to build M4's and A4 flat top rifles.

I have one on EE but I have no idea if it is original or not?
