I'm wanting to install a Yankee Hill Machine clamp on gas block, and then I want to install a Midwest Industries 15" floating hand guard.
I've read in a couple places online during my research, that people have had issues with the Midwest hand guard not fitting over the clamp on gas block.

Has anyone on here run into that problem?

Or, Does anyone on here have that combo working with no issues at all?

Thanks for any help.

It touches the handguard on the bottom by a hair.  Either file some down or look into a more traditional set screw block.  If you don't trust yourself for the dimples try ACDO

I've recently put 2 together for a friend. One 16" carbine and the other an 18" spr. Both were .750 journal, yhm clamp gas blocks and both had 15" MI 1 piece mlok rail. Fit just fine.

That's good to hear that it works fine.

I have a Windham MPC, so I'm going to remove the front gas block sight........go with the clamp on gas block and a 15" MI hand guard at some point.

Thanks for the info.

If you have a conventional upper with a front sight base gas block and drop-in hand guard, the best way to go is to shave down the FSB and keep it as your low-profile gas block.

This will require proper disassembly and reassembly, so you may need to have a friend or local gun shop do it if you can't.

I have a Gen2 SS and it didn't even come close to fitting.  Use a set screw block.

I did watch some YouTube videos on cutting down the FSB and making my own low profile gas block, but if I'm removing it all anyhow I'd rather just put on a gas block and save the FSB just in case I want to sell down the road. Not sure if it would ever go back on, but I hate to destroy it.

I emailed Windham, and they recommend the one they have on their website which is a set screw style. Use some 680 green loctite on the surface, and red 262 loctite on the set screws.
