Anybody have one of Clarks carbon fiber handguards on their rifles? How durable are they. I was wondering because they are epoxied onto the barrel nut.

You'll see a lot of them in the 3 gun world where they need a simple, lightweight handguard. You won't see a lot of them on ARFCOM, where "he who has the most rails, wins."

I'm looking for one to finish up my lightweight A1/C7 build. Hell, they build airplanes and car hoods out of CF, and for 90$ you can't go wrong.

I used one on a 6.8 SPC  Lightweight Hunter build that I put together for this year's whitetail season.  It has held up just fine and I absolutely love the light weight.

Tightening the barrel nut can be a little difficult because of the depth of the barrel nut.  You have to have a wrench with very long prongs to reach the holes.  I think most people use a strap wrench to put them on because of this.  My strap wrench wouldn't do it (it's a cheap piece of crap).  I ended up buying some 2 inch threaded studs and threading them into my DPMS freefloat handguard barrel wrench.  That worked OK.  All that said, I would not mind using another one if I needed another really lightweight handguard.

Yeah, but those machines are only subjected to (aerodynamic) forces in pre-designated directions. Try flying a plane sideways and see how long it lasts. Just because CF is used in those industries doesn't mean it'll stand up to the wear and tear of everyday use, or that its sturdiness will transfer to other arenas where it's not used in the same manner.

I personally don't like plastic handguards (because that's really what carbon-fiber is, one way or another).
