I'm using a 8-32 scope and above 14-16x, there's not enough light transmission and the picture is blurry. But from 8x-12x, I can see targets clearly at 25yd to 100yd+. At 25yd, it's got more of a fishbowl effect with the 8x setting because its too powerful. 4x works well for all ranges but target ID and POI ID at 200yd or farther is almost improbable with a 4x scope unless you use Shoot-N-See targets. |
| 3x-9x given the o/a package, 3x-10x or even 4x-14x but you invariably end up with a bigger scope. I hate to do what I was told not to do, but I'm a big Leupold fan, paticularly the MR/T 3x-9x for the AR. I previously had a big LR/T 3.5x-10x 40 obj. and it was alot for the SPR. My vision has gotten crappy as of late and I used the 9x on about everything from 50 to 300 yds on the range. Don't shoot any further than that really. 5.56 makes tiny holes at 100, and VERY TINY at 300. Out past 100 I need a good spotting scope anyway. |
