[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Code red lowers (Page 1 of 8)

| I ordered 2 code red lowers on Jan 2nd. I was told 2 weeks ago would be shipping that week or the next. Didn't happen. Called again. Was told they would ship mon or Tues. Didn't happen. Has anyone else ordered the beginning of January that got theirs? I hate to keep my fingers crossed, for something that I'm not sure will ever come. Have thought about ordering lowers from somewhere else, but hate to do that, and then have code red finally come thru and then my card is maxed out. Their customer service guy, isn't alot of help, won't look up my order, promised a email update which never came. Not sure what's up. Would be helpful to know if anyone else got theirs from Code red. Thanks. |

| I think they got a little overwhelmed with the numbers. Sounds like a new and fairly small organization that wasn't fully aware what all went in to getting these kinds of orders fulfilled. They've got to make sure the lowers get shipped from the production factory to their office, open the packages and match up with orders by date ordered, then they have to confirm your FFL data, print up shipping forms, package your lowers, coordinate with UPS on pick up times. It doesn't sound like much but when you're talking thousands of lowers (again just estimated) with a small workforce and they're new to this. I think they honestly underestimated how difficult it is to get started. Once they get their process down it'll move much smoother but like anything it's going to be a little rough starting out. I ordered mine on Jan 8th but after seeing the facebook pics and dates when people ordered on here I don't expect to get mine for another 2 weeks. Yeah I'm bummed but I know I'll get one, it's just going to take a little time. At least they took orders, most places wouldn't even backorder a lower. |
| Patience buddy. They had no idea they were going to be swamped with so many orders, no one could have predicted it. I ordered on Jan 10th and I don't expect to see it for another month or so, and I'm fine with that. The owner tony posted a picture of his inbox at over 6000 emails a couple days ago, just so you have an idea of the massive overload they're facing. |

I've been waiting almost five weeks also. When I ordered I was promised 4 weeks max. I call and email only to get blown off or a vague answer like "we're still shipping December orders, we will call you when we star shipping jan orders"
I'm about to cancel but in really really want a Detroit Gun Works lower.

Their site now says 12 week lead time anyways. They will be out of biz by then. I just emailed the people who really make the lowers for code red asking them to fwd my info to another distributor so I can still get a quality part without the BS. |

There were a ton of threads on this POS Tony Vega the other day on here. He's a shady dude who associates with gun grabbin politicians and pretty much said fuck the ARF.com community because we were probably only one percent of his business. Do what you want but there are several companies you can order a lower from. Maybe a little more money but it's not about the damn money, it's about a principal. |
Ordered 2 from cr on 1/2 but haven't heard anything. After this shit storm and with all the gun buy backs/ telling all of the AR15 community to fuck off, I'm probably going to cancel and find a couple other lowers. Does anyone know where such mythical stripped lowers exist? Preferably not necessitating that I sell my organs to pay for them

Fuck this place. Just cancelled my order for one lower receiver. I do/did like their roll-mark though.
With the whole fiasco surrounding the gun buyback, Vega's comments, rubbing elbows with the anti's...here is my take: People do dumb sh!t all the time. It's human nature to make occasional bad choices, although we all try not to. How Vega responded to the masses when this situation was initially brought to light speaks volumes about his character. That is what killed it for me. If he had fully realized the scope of his actions before opening his mouth and looking like a bigger fool, maybe he would've been able to salvage a sinking ship. But no, his words just made the situation much, much worse.... Only lower pre-order I'm going to let ride is the special from Shadow Ops Weaponry... |

| I understand why ppl are so pissed. I haven't been paying a ton of attention to this situation, and I do have one on order since Jan 14th. But didn't he issue an apology specifically to AR15.com members, stating after they pointed out the shortcomings of buy back programs, he won't have anything to do with them ever again? |

Are you talking about the half assed apology he issued when he saw the wave of order cancellations coming in? If Code Red was sincerely interested in righting this wrong they would get on the horn with their pal mayor & police chief, rescue the guns from destruction and then personally hand deliver each and every one of those stolen weapons to their lawful owners. Then Code Red would have to distance themselves from the gungrabbers and work diligently as a 2A advocate regardless of what political backlash they get from their local politicians. But code red is not doing that. What they are doing is using straw ar15.com shill accounts to continue lying and obscuring the truth. |

I have restrained from commenting on Code Red and Tony Vegas since this story hit the web. I have thought about it and read comments from both sides. I try not to rush to conclusions and keep an open mind. That being said, Code Red Firearms, under the control and ownership of Tony Vegas will never see a penny from me, and I will do my best to convince anyone I know who is considering purchasing an AR platform firearm not to have anything to do with Code Red as long as Mr Vegas has anything to do with that company. Everything he has said in response to the fall out from his participation in the buy back and his response to his critics tells me he has absolutely no integrity. His response to the initial fall out was to say he doesn't need us. He doesn't care if gun owners who have been violated by their personal property being robbed, burglared or stolen from them ever get their property back or they get justice for such violations. "It's not my job" doesn't cut it when you are an active participant in the program. By saying it never occurred to you that these programs could be damaging to gun ownership is ludicrous. By not seeing that giving money without question for people to bring in guns could lead to stolen firearms is less than juvenile. And then in a futile attempt to save your own skin, try to use your "employee's" jobs as ransom for you to keep selling your product is unbareable. Shame on you Tony Vegas.
