| I got an interesting email the other day praising the versatility of the good ol' coffee filter. It kept saying it was lint free and good to clean with. What do ya'll think about using it to clean firearms. I thought it might work out pretty good being lint free but would love to hear if anyone has tried it before. |

I'll stick to using cut up sections of white bed sheet. White bed sheets can be purchased very cheap, and provide for a good supply of cleaning rags. And I believe white cotton sheets are probably more absorbent than a coffee filter would be. |
Thanks QUIB. I have plenty of old sheets. I hadn't really thought about the absorbency, just the lint. I know these rifles are pretty tough, but I don't want to put any undo stress on them. I am a fairly new gun owner and just getting into the AR's. Thanks again for your help.

| Back in my black powder days we used pillow ticking to patch round ball loads. We washed it 10 times to "fluff" it up. I also like to use it on a jag to clean the bore with. Lint free and very tough, very absorbent too. Might have to look around and see if I can find some more to use now that I have BRD. |
