According to their site, the rifle kits they sell are del-ton uppers, LPKs and stock with or without a spikes lower.

del-ton, like any brand, has its fans and its haters. I, for one, have a del-ton rifle kit and love it. They are inexpensive and seem to hold up just as well as more expensive companies. I have had zero problems with it. Others may argue differently.

They consensus around here is that spikes lowers are quality at a decent price as well. I have no experience with them so i cant speak on that.

They sell them with or without lowers most likely because of the need to have the receiver shipped to an FFL.

If you get it with the receiver, the whole kit will be shipped to your FFL and he will run the background check and transfer it to you.

If you get it without the receiver, the kit can be shipped straight to your house and you can pick up a receiver locally. Which may or may not be cheaper. Transfer fees can range from $10 to $50.

100% sound advice above.

CHA's complete rifles are shipped with Delton lowers which are more than fine.I had a Palmetto lower from the group buy that I used for my last build.

These prices are excellent and items sell out quickly. Buy with confiidence and buy soon.

Super advise above.  I would buy the lower separately.  The FFLs normally charge per S/N, so the only thing they should charge you for the background and receiving is the lower.  Just know that up front.

For the state of Florida, the FFL mush charge you tax on everything they receive.  Mine is a champ and said, "if you ship this without a invoice with dollar figures, I legally can't chage you tax on something I don't know the cost on."  If you send the lower and the kit to him with an invoice, then he will be required to charge tax on all of it - For Florida.  Talk to an FFL.  Also, some FFLs charge $50 and some $20.  My Dad and Mom (both in 70s) have a friend that is an FFL and charges $10 - Beautiful.

Keep in mind that everything can be shipped to YOUR house but the lower with the S/N.  It's best to keep the two purchses separate and ship one to FFL and the rest to your house.

Good luck, and I went through this about 3 months ago.  I just finished my third (well, almost) build.  BTW, the barrel is the longest lead time and even if they show in stock sometimes takes 2 weeks if not 1-2 months...I order those separate also so I can build the rest.  Also, look on Brownells site for a build sheet - I made my own Excel sheet to keep track of the purchases (and cost so when someone offers you money for the gun at the range...You can say yes or no immediately - My concern - background checks).  I just ordered a complete rifle 2 weeks apart on two purchases.  I planned to order the ejection port cover and foward assist on the first go - Forgot - and now I am waiting for another shipment to complete #3.  Only advise I can give you after 3.

I've ordered one kit (minus lower) and a YHM upper on sale from them.  Excellent service, no complaints at all.  Even got some freebies!

Yes, Deltons lead time is now 4-6 weeks. Cold Hand Arms has a live inventory system, what they show is what they have. My order from them only took one week with $8 shipping charges.

CHA's shipping time is right up there with Primary Arms and AIM as far as lightning speed goes.       My door                 their door.
