Hey all,
I hope I don't look too foolish by asking this question. Just don't know where to ask? I have a 20" rifle length with A2 stock on my rifle. I would like to put a collapsable stock on it so that my 9 yr. old can shoot it more comfortably. I don't suppose the carbine length stocks would work? I like the ACS stocks by Magpul (just by looks anyway), but don't know if that would work or if I need a "rifle" specific stock and extension tube. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. so if I understand correctly, I can run a carbine stock and spring and buffer with the corresponding extension? I guess the "stock is a system? Buffer and spring correspond to the extension rather than the gas port? Yes, you cannot run a ACS with the A2 buffer. AIM has a Mil spec buffer tube for $20. You can get a crabine length spring pretty cheap through Brownells as well as a buffer. You could also look used on the EE. You will also need a retainer plate and castle nut and you are good to go. Brownells also sells those small parts. Most of the vendors in the header of the Site sell these parts as well. |

You can the a mil-spec stock extension and the ACS stock at Bravo Company a little cheaper than the Spike's kit (shipping not considered). |

Check out Spikes Tactical, they sell a kit, ACS with their buffer, a spring, tube and hardware. This...but an entire kit and swap out the A2 stock for a receiver extension, buffer spring and buffer...the buffers are different. You may know this already, but when removing the original stock don't forget about the rear takedown spring and detent which will pop out if you're not careful...or that will be your next post (what was it and where did it go?). |
