If I were you, I'd 1-just leave it alone, or 2-spray it with Krylon. about anything you use is going to wear/scrape off and kinda look like crap. +1 if you want to spray paint them use fusion spray paint by krylon it for plastic I assume that this would also work (equally) well for painting a set of black plastic handguards, pistol grip and collapsible stock that will eventually be transmogrified from black into pink - as that is my oldest daughter's current color of choice for for rifle furniture ... |

Yes
http://www.ar15.com/forums/forum.html?b=6&f=19 you know they sell pink furniture |

Yes, but buying a can of spray paint to use on parts that I already own is much cheaper than going out and buying a whole new set of furniture (to include handguards, grip and stock) ... But thanks for that link - - the funny thing is that I didn't realize there was actually a dedicated refinishing forum ..... oops ...

| if you're doing any kind of grip work or forearm stuff check out the tool dip. you can get it at any local hardware store i have used the actual dip but not the spray can. it works ok just as long as you prep the surface really well i.e. sanding and fou may look into a primer as well. the nice thing about this is that it gives a rubber feel to the grip. im not sure on the exact name of the product but it shows a hammer handle being dipped on the label, which i think is blue. just go to the local hardware store and ask them, they should know what you are talking about. |
