The new Colt online catalogue shows a 9mm AR-15.  Don't know how long that has been available.

Does anyone have experience with one of these?
Who makes the magazines and how hard are they to get?

I have a Colt AR6951.  My Colt has fed every ammo I have used..

The mags work great in my 9mm AR pistols. The mags  have Colt on them.  I understand they are made by Metalform.

I have a fair amount of time with Colt 9mm. Excellent out of the box, and I'm not a Colt "fan boy". Metalform makes the Colt mags, and they're excellent. ASC/C Products are hit and miss. I have 4 that work perfectly, a few others that are iffy. Avoid ProMag. If you buy a new Colt, check the barrel nut. Last 3 in my hands have been loose.

My current Colt has a Troy 13" rail and an Eotech. May be the "funest" range gun ever. All pistol/rifle steel is hit from 12-50 yards. A blast on the Texas Star!

If you reload 9mm, it's even better.

The 9mm submachine gun version of the M16 was introduced in the early 80s.  Then or shortly afterwards, civilian semi auto versions became available. A number of other makers have been making clones of the Colt 9mm system, or similar offerings of different design, continuously.

Only 30 years since they started making them.

ASC, Colt, Metalform, C-products and promag make mags for them. Only the first 3 listed are worth a damn (note than many other companies offer metalform under their own name IE PSA, brownells, rra, ect..)
