I have been wanting a Colt 6520 since I sold mine years ago. Any ideas on where to get one? SOG? CDNN? Impact guns? Hoplite? Any advice would be appreciated. Please forgive me if I have posted in the wrong forum. I don't post much.
Thanks Mark |
| As mentioned, Clyde's Armory has them for $1070. They also have the Colt 6720 which is a 6520 with a flattop upper and Matech BUIS for $1200. |

Thanks for all the advice. Has anyone dealt with Impact guns? Thanks again, Mark Impact has some storefront locations in Utah. They can be jerks serving you FTF, but I'm not sure on how you get treated if ordering online... their prices do seem to be high for online though. |

Again thanks to all who responded. I went with an excellent to like new one from CDNN. Have been doing business with them for years. Just wondered what other possibilities were. I know this is an outdated gun, but I wanted one to replace the one I sold several years ago. I have a flattop that I built, and a pre ban PWA 20", but just wanted an "original" colt again.
Thanks, Mark |

Nothing wrong with a good old carry handle IMO....but if you do plan on using an optic or scope.........I would recommend going with a flat top 6920.........or 6921 if you are class III.
I am a big fan of the flat top.......not that the carry handle is antiquated, but mostly bedause optics and BUIS are my preference. |

There are cheaper places to get them. I've seen them sub $1k at a couple of different vendors. |

I didn't mean to offend anyone with the outdated comment. I just figured everyone wanted optics today. I have as I said a carbine I built that is a flattop with an optic on it. I like the A2 upper, and have wanted to put a Colt back in my collection. Not that I think Colt is that much better than anyone else. In fact I wonder how much they really make themselves.???
Thanks, Mark |

Thanks, Mark There are many threads on the Colt topic and what they actually make. The consensus is that they make themselves far more than one would think. Colt has a massive industrial capability. They typically run at a very low % of their total capability, even under .mil contract and high # of civilian market orders. The only thing holding them back is really the marginal cost of adding additional workers. (please no one turn this into a union thread ) They are out of BK and have very low costs to make things in-house despite the labor premium. It is an outstanding carbine. Get one. You only limit yourself with optics with an A2, you don't rule optics out. Light is good. Buy your membership and you can search the archive section for these topics |
