They say a sucker is born every minute, well I've proved that to be true.  I know nothing about AR15's other than the fact that I wanted to get one while I still could and I wanted quality.  I ended up buying a Colt 6721 LE for 2k (yeah I'm still sleeping on the couch) and pick it up tomorrow.

The real question: should I leave this NIB and try to resell if/when the ban goes into effect or have fun with it and not look back?

I really just purchased because I wanted one, and in case things go to hell with all the “change” that’s happening.  I’m not in law enforcement or the military and I do have other firearms for home self defense. (Mossberg Mariner, S&W M&P 9mm)

I’m really looking for suggestions on where to go from here?

Thank you in advance to everyone who responds.

Yes you paid too much, but IF there is a ban the Colt LE marked guns will probably go up the most. I would enjoy it and not look back.

never mind to whoever read that. I am an idiot and thought 7 was the same thing as 9.

I just bought a LE6721 too..... I plan on shooting it until I'm too tired to smile anymore.....  not enough profit involved to try to capitalize on a future ban...... Go enjoy your new gun!

Shoot the hell out of it, if there is a ban you will still be able to get more than what you paid for it.

And we need pics!

Enjoy the gun as they are meant to be shot and not looked at.

2 grand––OUCH! Did it come with some KY? As long as you are happy it it didn't break the bank you got a nice carbine. Shoot the hell out of it and maybe pick up a .22 conversion so you can recoup some of your cost by shooting inexpensive .22 ammo.

Well I knew that I overpaid once by at least $200, my father doesn't know how to use google very well.  This was the first thing that came up last week.

Nothing I can do now except have fun with it and find good optic to put on it.  I was leaning toward Aimpoint M3 or M4.  Anyone here have any thoughts on these?

I'd shoot it. Get a .22 conversion from spikes and be happy with it.

I was once told you can't pay too much for a gun, only too early.  I thought $600 was way too much for a Colt back in 1993 and $350 was too much for a Polytech folding AK.
Shoot it and take care of it.

Buy ammo and practice before you attach a bunch of crap to it.  You may just find you like it as a basic lightweight carbine.  Once you can hit a sillouette consistently at 300 meters, then move to optics.
