Hi, I'm looking for more information on the Colt 6920 but I can't find it on their website http://www.coltsmfg.com/cmci/rifles.asp Is that the wrong website, or where can I get the manufacturer site for this weapon? Thanks. |

not to hijack i too have been thinking of getting a 6920 before the dems take over. anyone have any reason not to order up a 6920? the going price around here is 1300 out the door.i live 15 min from dpms but just dont think their guns have the relibality of a colt.plus i like colt 1911's. for the same money is there a comparible rifle out there??? thanks pete |
If you don't mind a 14.5" barrel with permanently attached muzzle device, look at the Noveske N4 Light Carbine Basic. Link |

Thanks! Do you have thoughts on the 6921 with the 14.5" barrel versus the 6920? |
It is an NFA item requiring you to jump through all the BATF hoops and pay the $200.00 tax on the approved form 4 If you want to jump into the realm of restricted firearms it is a good choice. |
The 6921 is "closer" to the M4. If you don't mind the wait and tax stamp, I'd get the 6921. |
If the 6921 has a permanently attached muzzle device, then does it require BATF approval? Can you order a 6921 with permanently attached muzzle device? What are the pros/cons of 14.5" versus 16"? |
Yes it still is NFA, the 6921 lower is a registered SBR lower. and you would have to go the NFA route for the lower regardless of the length of barrel on the lower. If you want to go the route you suggest that buy the 6920 and look for 14.5 inch upper to have it blind pinned and welded to the legal non NFA 16 inch length. |
Alright that makes sense. Appreciate it. Do you or anyone else have links to quality discussion of pros/cons of 14.5" versus 16" barrel length for AR-15 platform rifles? |
I would go with the 16" but only because I don't like the idea of having to remove a pinned and welded over muzzle device if I ever need to remove my gas block. To me the weight difference isn't worth it, it's only 1.5" of barrel. If you want an M4gery then you want the 14.5" barrel. |
| The advantage of the 14.5" barrel is that it is shorter, therefore more manuverable. If you are going to get a 14.5 do yourself a favor and get the SBR so you are not stuck with a perm attached flash hider. If you have a 6921 lower you could also get a 10.5" upper for it as well considering it's already SBR'd. |
Goddamn it. Someone had to go and bump a year old thread that HAPPENED to have an old link to Noveskes that were coincidentally back in stock... and now I've just spent the money I was saving for another E3. I have no impulse control. Looks like I got the last one too. |
