I have been offered a colt 6920 about 5 yrs old and about 500 rounds down the tube.  The price is $1000.  Is this a reasonable price?

Yes. If round count is verifiable.  But a used rifle is a used rifle regardless of number of rounds through the weapon.

Make a counter offer.

Not a bad price if it has only 500 rounds. I would counter offer. Condition would have to be very nice for that price.

Don't look too bad.

I find it odd that the front pin is a screw, how old are these?

Not a Colt expert but didn't know they used any large hole upper/lower combos.  What about FCG pin sizes?

Those are always big regardless of the model number from Colt.

The markings say Law Enforcement Carbine though.

Not bad given the current price/availability of 6920s. Can you handle it in person?

Ad says 5 years but judging by the 5xxx serial number, I would say a few years old than that.

ETA: These a small pin front/rear takedown pin. They just never drilled the hole in the fence for the spring and detent and use the screw to retain the pin.
