Does anyone have any info on Colt's new LE 6940? I believe it to be the new replacement for the Colt LE1020 gas piston carbine...

Why would you want to spend extra $ on the same gas system that the 6920 uses. The LMT MRP would be a much better setup and is readily available. Tell me how to access the barrel nut on the 6940. There is no lower bolt like the MRP, so that means the front handguard must disect to expose the nut for service? So its not truely one piece. |

Not sure whether or not this rifle uses a standard barrel nut, but the lower rail should remove. The upper is still a monolithic top rail, just like the Vltor VIS.
Depending on what the barrel nut looks like, I'd like to get one with the barrel switched out with a standard FSB, instead of the flip-up unit and a 14.5" barrel. ~Augee |

Holy hell, how did I miss this?!?!?!?!?! Will these be a regular production item, or just limited release? its going to be a regular production item, and is meant to be their new flagship rifle. starting with this model, all colt riflefs will have standard FCG pins, the bottom of the MRP rail comes off and the barrel can be removed, the front site is titanium and is a flip up. it uses a different barrel nut and will be pretty easy to swap barrels. and i do believe it will have an option to get the regular FSB or the flip up. and has a hammer forged barrel |

Not sure. I put a 6920 on order about 3 weeks ago with them. Seems to be the best price I've seen anywhere right now. Yeah, I put my order in today with them for a 6940. I didn't think to ask them about mil orders. Call and ask for Glenn. He's very helpful and can answer that question for you CitySlicker. |

I see that there is a new listing for one on Gunbroker.

If you're and LEO check the bottom of this page. They are saying its a 30-45 day wait for a 6940 http://www.phoenixlawenforcement.com/ Nice! Thanks for the link. Do you know if they sell to MIL as well? I sent them an email asking about mil pricing, I'll let you know once I get a response. |

Sporting a 6920 lower, but with .154 pins Who knows, that opening of $2,250 may be a bargain for a while. That's the only distraction of it all. I hate the thought of paying the double premium of 'panic-streak and new Colt model'. Hell, it may as well be a triple whammy for those who don't have the scratch right now, or don't want to spend a few grand on a "__th rifle" (fill-in-the-blank) |

I got my 6920 from him several years ago. He is a good guy, always has lot's of colt stuff. |
