Since SAWLESALES doesn't want to sell to civvies, or thinks we can all go fuck ourselves, is there an alternative??? I need an H3, 9mm or 9mm (A)........I assume these are all CAR type buffers...?? Any ideas??? |
|
I bought the standard H buffer from Georgia Precision, he only wanted $8, I bought one the week before from another dealer from here for $29. Adco is back ordered on the RRA 9mm buffer for $24. RB Precision has them listed at the same price. Model1sales has the Colt heavy for $35 and the 2H for $45. Hope it helps. Mike |

I'm a civvy and I've done lots of business with Ken and Tina at SAW. They've always treated me very well and I always know I'm getting quality parts. Ken has also said he will sell LE6920's to civvy's after the ban dies regardless of what Colt thinks so he's ok in my book. |
Since when does SAW not want to sell to Civvies???? (I buy from them all the time)??? They treat me very well and guess what………They do not sell Colt part unless they are Actually COLT parts! (I recently bought a Colt bolt from someone else that was in fact an FN bolt advertised as Colt!) Don’t listen to the nonsense that has been posted on this site in the past. |
The owner was here and told us he didn't care if we bought from him or not.....so, I don't. That's all, just making sure I was clear that I didn't want someone to refer me there. Thanks. |
Cool...more parts for me. |
Was he (Ken) speaking too you? I know he wasn’t speaking to me! Have you ever purchased from SAW yourself? Like I said earlier…… Don’t listen to the previous babble (on both sides) displayed on this forum. |
Shivan, you can pick up the Colt H3 CAR <5.47 ounce> buffer from Fulton Armory... $34.95 as I recall... |
I believe I have one from them. It's marked "H".....are the H3's marked differently??? |
I do NOT want to start the whole ruckus again, but the simple fact is that the "babble" you mention was started by Mr Elmore hinself. He came on this site, informed us that he didn't care about having our business, and referred to the site members here in very unflattering terms. Many of us did not appreciate his comments and attitude, and have studiously avoided doing business with him since. Prior to his outburst, I had called them about a possible order, and spoken to his wife, who was extremely pleasant. Even tho I didn't place an order at the time, I had bookmarked the site for future reference. I killed the bookmark after his posting here. If you have found this supplier a good source, I'm pleased for you. I just hope you can understand that some of us found Mr Elmore's comments patronising at best, and downright insulting at worst. And you know something? I've been able to build up four ARs over the last three years, all of which have Colt bolts/carriers, and innards, and two of which have Colt uppers and barrels; to go along w/the original Colt rifle I started with---and didn't have to spend one cent w/Mr Elmore. |
There are three little sliding cylinders of steel separated by rubber washers in the standard carbine buffer. In the H buffer, one of these cylinders is replaced by a tungsten cylinder. H2 s have another tungsten piece and of course have only one remaining steel piece. H3s would have all three sliding weights as tungsten. |
I seem to recall that the "H2" buffers are marked "HH". So it would be logical to assume that an "H3" would be marked "HHH". However, we all know what we get when we assume, so maybe someone who has an H3 buffer can confirm this. |
Then I am mistaken. Thanks for the pic. |

Ed, Try this buffer at Brownells. If you have a FFL account with them it is only $29.00 I believe. DPMS Heavy Buffer |
Yes, I've got my Tungsten H-BUffer from Fulton Armory as well and I believe it's heavier due to the "Tungsten" weights. I thought they were 5.5oz like the 9mm buffers so it's interesting to find out that they're actually a bit heavier. |
