Are these any good? What is the max price I should pay. Will the BDC work with different weight bullets? I want a scope for my Dissy and was considering the Colt/C-more 4x or the colt 3x any assistance appreciated |

I have a Colt 4x21 on top of my RRA M4 and although I dont use the BDC, I get exceptional groups from 25-200 meters. There is nothing wrong with these scopes and the nice thing is you can go to your iron sights quickly They are strong, rugged scopes. Get either the original Colt or the newer C-More. BTW Chuck, why dont you like the scope |

I've been doing some research myself on these simple, easy on/off scopes lately. The reason is that my shooting improved quite dramatically just by using a cheepie "Ultralux" 4x Colt scope replica. However, the eye-relief is poorer in this Chinese copy, and I'd like to step-up to a better optic. FYI, Here is a review of the CMore Systems 4 Power AR-15 Scope on the Assault Web Board I've also been looking at the Hakko COL-4211 4x21 Law Enforcement Scope. A description can be found Here Comments are welcome! |

Been a couple of months... Sorry. The only C-More sight I was familiar with is the fragile, open red dot sight. Hadn't seen the telescopic sights until the above links. The original Colt's 3x20 (I have one) and later 4x20 are fine telescopic sights. The Leapers-Norinco rip-offs aren't bad copies and are in the $40 range with PRC optics. If the C-More shown here has Japanese optics it may be a better sight. A "bullet drop compensator" is a fancy name for a range wheel and different barrel lengths and cartridges (M193 vs M855 Ball) have drastically different trajectories in the ranges shown on these dials. For battlesight (200 meters) they'll be fine. Beyond that you'll have to experiment. For a handle mounted telescopic sight anything bigger than this is hard to use as it's so high off the stock. -- Chuck |
| I have a NIB C-MORE E4XCMS scope I bought from Brian's Ammo a while back. It is a great scope, clear optics, built like a tank, but I can't find any info on it. It says the BDC is for M855 ammunition, but does not indicate, either on the scope or in the manual, if it is for the 20" or 14.5" barrel. I also can't find any info on whether it mounts directly to the flat top (seems a little low) or if it was made to work with a riser, like the A.R.M.S. forearm. I would like to mount it at the correct height, so that the BDC works as designed. Did you find any info on it, or does anyone know? I read the reviews on AssaultWeb, and the FAL Files, but they really didn't address this. |
| Lumpy I have read that thread before, but I didn't think he was asking about that type of scope. The one I have was reviewed by DrJekl on AR15 Reviews here. |

Lumpy; As CavReconScout pointed out I/we wasn't asking about that type of scope. The one I was asking about was reviewed by DrJekl on AR15 Reviews, see CavReconScout's post above. You might have noticed that I also mentioned I've also been looking at the Hakko COL-4211 4x21 Law Enforcement Scope. Everybody sees C-More and before reading, reflexly pounds out a link to the same red dot thread. ![]() |
