Just thought I put this up for any that have questions.  Went to a local dealer and asked for this gun specifically.  We agreed on a $700 out the door price and away I went.  Had it for a few weeks now and just getting around to writing this up.  I haven't shot it yet so this is more of an unboxing type post.  The Expanse CE2000 comes with a FA and Dust cover.  That is the only difference I can tell from the Expanse CE1000.

Some pictures for you:
Box

Gun

Roll Mark

Upper square forge mark

Barrel Marking

Barrel Profile

The upper receiver, BCG, are not marked Colt, the BCG is marked MP and is full auto type.
The trigger is different not standard milspec but pulls, breaks, and feels better than milspec.
Handguard are skinny 6 hole type.
F marked front sight post.
M4 feed ramps.
Feels and balances well just like every other Colt carbine.
Fitment between the upper/lower is outstanding and finish matches well.

Doesn't matter to me, it's going in the range box or I'll give it away when I sell/trade something.

Congrats!

I also have almost the same except mine's the CE1000 I picked up last March, they're a good shooter and no problems at all with mine.

I just want to ask about your factory installed forward assist, does the plunger itself (the part that moves) have a roll pin (not the roll pin in the upper receiver)?

I'm asking because there are two types of forward assist plungers, the mil-spec Colt type plungers uses a roll pin while the commercial type doesn't have a roll pin.

Your new model also have a two piece mag catch, my older model came with a one piece mag catch (doesn't have that round piece at the rear end of the mag catch) which is the same as AR from Colt Competition Rifles made in TX.

My last question is about your included magazine, did you open the sealed factory box or was it already opened?

I opened my factory sealed CE1000 Expanse box at the gun shop when I picked it up and it had one factory Colt marked aluminum 30 rd mag.

Yeah, what's with the barrel profile?

No clue, It's thicker under the handguard than my other (Milspec/government) barrels.  My guess, this gun being made to compete with S&W Sport II, Ruger AR556, Colt used the same type of profile they use.  I've sold a lot of sport II's and AR556's to old guys who were going to use it on their property (coyotes and what not).  Those guys wouldn't look at anything with an M4 profile barrel.  I'm kind of a government profile type guy.

$550 BUSTER!  Just kiddin' I don't want to sell it.  Saw a guy on here that had a Colt M4a1 marked lower for sale for almost a grand.

My last question is about your included magazine, did you open the sealed factory box or was it already opened?  THE BOX WAS ALREADY OPEN AND THE GUN WAS ON DISPLAY.  COULD HAVE BEEN A MIX UP OR SWAP BY THE SHOP IDK.  THE MAG, ITSELF, DOESN'T BOTHER ME EITHER WAY, AS I DO NOT USE METAL MAGS.  I HAVE ABOUT 15 IN MY RANGE BOX IN CASE SOMEONE NEEDS THEM.

I opened my factory sealed CE1000 Expanse box at the gun shop when I picked it up and it had one factory Colt marked aluminum 30 rd mag.

Thank you!  Good questions I answered them best I could in (ALL CAPS).  I will pull the rifle out tomorrow and take a closer look at the mag catch and FA.

ETA: You had me curious so I went and pulled the mag catch out.  It's a two piece!

Thanks for your answers, the two piece mag catch is this with the end of the bolt rivited at the left side, rear end of the mag catch (circled).
I saw yours is the standard two piece mag catch from your picture.
My original CE1000 did not have that round circle, it's a new style one piece used by Colt Competition Rifles made in Texas.

The forward assist roll pin I was asking in the pic above circled, you don't have to take apart your forward assist, just look near the rear end of the plunger.

Here's my CE1000 Expanse modified to my personal preference, I mainly use my Expanse upper half as a plinker and for practice on my other Colt 6920 and 6721 carbine lowers.

Changes:
Magpul MOE SL M-LOK (Slim Line) carbine FDE handguards
Magpul MOE M-LOK FDE vertical foregrip
Magpul MOE K-2 FDE grip
Magpul STR FDE stock with optional long 0.7" butt-pad
Colt standard mag catch
Colt standard semi auto fire control group
Colt H heavy buffer
Badger Ordnance tactical latch gen 1

I use my Expanse lower half with my Colt 6920 upper half with KAC M4 RAS rails, LaRue FUG VFG, Magpul enhanced XTM rail panels & hand stop, Aimpoint, KAC 300M rear folding BUIS, and BCM GF ambi charging handle.

Aw I gotcha, yeah there isn't a roll pin in the FA.  Good looking rifles BTW.

It was supposed to be $749 but they had a 10% off Modern Sporting Rifle sale, and another 10% off for using the Military Star charge card. Of course, no sales tax.

Also mine came with a Colt mag sealed in the bag with the owners manual and cable lock.

no M4 cut is a positive...   I had mine cut to 12.5" to be my accuracy focused SBR rig as its not chrome lined and little heavier profile than govt, but not absurdly thick.  Still need to put a scope on it.
