I was told that this F marked FSB belongs to Colt.  Can someone confirm the forge mark?  The other side or left side has the letter "F".  Thanks in advance.

The forge mark says nothing about which manufacturer finished the part. It could be from Colt or could not.

^ what he said.

The force mark just denotes te forging facility that did the raw forging, and often the Lot and maybe the Die used to make it. True, certain manufactrurers may only use a select few forges. Hawever with Colt as big as they are, they use and have used over thier long production, many different forges.

Furthermore, the "F" doen't speciffically denote Colt, eventhough Colt does use "F-marked" FSB's. The "F" is simply a nearly industry-wide marking to indicate that the sight level is compatable with the Carbine-length sight radius without using an extended-length front sight pin, by .040 if I recall correctly.

I have seen a lot of Colt's with that forge code, but I do not think it was exclusive to Colt.
