| Other than the old SP1 models, do any of the pre ban Colts utilize standard fire control parts and / or hammer and trigger pin sizes? If so, which models? |

In 1990 Colt was still offering its Gov Mod AR/15 A2 with large screw pins front and small push pins rear! But in the very late 80's ninetys they lost their contract with FN,and had lots of parts so to say so they made many of the (white label colts) rifles with M16 reciever parts, bolts, carriers the whole lot! Of course the carriers were cut back so they would be legal, plus they were more of the correct weight so were less likely to jamb with the milspec ammmo used in them! The Gov Models were made in 1990 only 10,937 of them so they are all pre-ban,after that no more AR/15 A2. Sporters were the next evolution, sear blocks(green or blue labels) so on so about 90-93 the wierd pins and blocks started showing up! And thats when the larger fire control started happening! Bob [:d] YMMV |
