Sorry, I am at my office and dont have available a photo to salivate over.
I have a Colt M4 with a single point sling, bipod vert grip, magpul CTR stock KAC RAS system (all useless info not pertaining to my question) I have an ACOG TA01NSN as my optic: (set aside all the use and ballistic questions, lets keep it simple here (FYI –– I have thousands of rds of M855 and M193 LC brass –– not for sale. and my range is 1 foot from my muzzle to however far he runs with my TV before I get a shot off –– for arguments sake 600M to utilize my BDC) My question is (finally): I am trying to decide between mounting the Trijicon RMR onto my ACOG (leaning towards the dual light source as to keep myself battery free) if you have info on this or reasons to lean toward the LED version instead (lets leave cost out of the equation, you pay for junk you shoot with junk). OR my next idea, more out of the box is: I would like to get an aimpoint micro or some variation and mount it either on a twist mount like the aimpoint 3x mags or mounted on an angle or offset so a simple torque of my wrists will bring my CQC sight right into play. a) any ideas on how to obtain this kind of mount/sight system b) reasons not to? experiences? any advice on either idea I guess, what I am asking is, what is the most efficent way to utilize a nice 4x ACOG for 100+ shooting, but not get double tapped while trying to find my target inside my ACOG reticle????????? thanks, Scott |

I would add that for my own personal home defense, if someone entered I immediately grab my Mossberg 590 and end the discussion, I also have a GLock 21 SF with a Tac light. So, my M4 is for mid range 30-400M so, I just would like to have the option of a red dot in addition to a scope, I do not plan on buying a Rem .308 or anything "sniper" or cross hair needy, so my M4 is to serve the purpose of out to 500 M stretching it, and anything moving from 0 out. If I am inside of walls, Mossberg is doing the communication. |
