I have a Colt HBAR with a muzzle brake.  Does anyone know if it is difficult to remove the pins and remove the brake?  Is there a specific direction the pins need to be hammered out?  ie., left to right or right to left?

If your brake is held in by the roll pins  you can remove them from either side.  It's very easy to remove the brake by tapping them out.  Our department has the Colt's with muzzle brakes an has subsequently shot several muzzle brakes down range due to the roll pins coming loose.  Colt replaced the roll pins with solid taper pins.  We will see how they hold up!
