I gotta buddy he wants to custom build an ar15 and wants to use colt parts. I was told that colt doesnt sell their parts such as the lower separate. Is this true? Thanks

Correct, however, you can find then on Gunbroker from time to time & from authorized Colt distributor SAW (Specialized Armament Warehouse). Expect to pay muy mucho dinero for one though.

You can buy some parts (like BCGs and complete upper halves) directly from Colt HERE

-6920 complete upper halves (with BCG, charging handle, rear sight) are $685
-6940 complete upper halves are $949
-BCGs with M-16 carrier are $179.95

It would be cheaper for him to buy a complete 6920 and swap out the parts he doesn't want. Then sell the unused Colt parts for $$$$.
