Hi Guys,

I was wondering if the only difference between Colt lower receivers and the current garden variety (cmt, mega, lar, etc.) is the size of the trigger/hammer pins. Are the take down and pivot pins the same? Just checking, because I am thinking of buying an early colt receiver and I want to make sure that all of my current uppers will work with it.

Regards.

Some Colt receivers had standard takedown pins and oversized fire control group pins, and some others had standard fcg pins and an oversize front pin.

In general, those without the pinned in sear block have oversized fcg and standard front takedown and older receivers hav no sear block and oversized takedown pin.

There are also receivers with both large FCG and takedown pins, reportedly. Just ask the seller to measure the diameter of the front pin.

With a conversion pin you can use large hole receivers with any upper no problem.
