I found a nice old SP1 in a shop for sale.. the oddity is it has a SET trigger.    between the Safe and SEMI markings at a 45% angle is stamped "SET"  its stamped and when you put it on set then back to semi the trigger is crisp light break with no take up.     Has anyone have any info.  Sorry could not get Photos.

I say someone added the trigger and stamped the reciver at some point. It's not factory. Value of the rifle is less since the reciver has been "altered "  in my opinion.

Not a factory trigger.  Williams made a set trigger for ARs.  Not sure if others have.

Interesting description from Williams Triggers:

AR-15 (and AR-15 Type)
SET TRIGGER METHOD OF OPERATION
With the rifle pointed in a SAFE direction and the selector in the “FIRE” position, push the selector lever forward, 12 to 15 degrees, until it comes to a stop, then release.  The lever will return automatically.
The rifle is now in the “SET” mode and will fire at 1.5 to 2 pounds of pressure on the trigger.
After this shot has been fired, the rifle will automatically revert to the normal semi-auto mode of fire until the trigger is reset in the same way as described above.
To “un-set” the trigger, push the selector lever to the “SAFE” position.  This puts the weapon back in the semi-auto mode, and on “SAFE”.

Still, $200 for a 1.5-2lb pull and minimal creep.  Not bad, but there are a lot of trigger options more modern than a set. A good 2-stage trigger provides a similar end.

Sounds just like how it worked.  The stamping was very nicely done and was vintage.   Just and oddity that was cool to me.

Yep. Sounds like a Williams set trigger. I had it done to my Sporter Match HBAR ~20 yrs ago.

Definately not worth $2500, unless a REALLY EARLY one, and then the 'set" marking would drastically reduce the value.
