The first run of 901's are coming off the line in the next week or two and they're eager to get them out. I'm getting one to demo for the summer! I'm happy to answer any questions you have and I'll post a video range report afterwards. I was lucky enough to shoot this and the SCW at the NDIA conference last month and I'll say it shoots like a hot 5.56. Now realize I only fired 10 rounds through the 901 that day. They're shipping me the magwell adapter and some magazines this week. I have a 6940 that I will be using as the 5.56 upper conversion in the demo.
RE: 901 range report question submissions. Keep them short and post 'em on this thread. No PM's please. I won't do any destructive testing, so don't ask. I will do mud, water and dust testing. I will use an EoTech EXPS3-0 for close-in & a Trijicon ACOG or TR24G for distance. I'll try a variety of bullet weights, if there's something specific you want to see, let me know. |

I received a box from Colt today with the parts for the 901 and some marketing flyers.

Then, it just slips into the magwell of the 901 to take the 5.56 magazines. http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h376/DocMakerAR/IMG_0543.jpg http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h376/DocMakerAR/IMG_0539.jpg http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h376/DocMakerAR/IMG_0549.jpg http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h376/DocMakerAR/IMG_0550.jpg BUFFER & SPRING: http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h376/DocMakerAR/IMG_0546.jpg |

Received another swag package today http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h376/DocMakerAR/IMG_0551.jpg 3 extra Magpul 7.62x51 magazines http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h376/DocMakerAR/IMG_0553.jpg 20rd Colt spec, details: http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h376/DocMakerAR/IMG_0554.jpg |

Front pin location would have to be re-engineered and Colt would sue something fierce. |

OK, so it took a bit longer for the shipping but the 901 has landed. I'll have video once I get to the range.

That's awesome!! I'm really curious if an RDIAS will run in this rifle. I've heard that the full-auto versions use the standard M16 auto-sear and parts. What do the internals look like? I was under the impression that an auto sear couldn't be used in any lower other than it was intended for, such as for AR15 lowers... Will the 901 be in the gray area? |
| Well I'm thinking if the RDIAS and standard M-16 trigger parts drop in with no modification, well except maybe for milling out the shelf area like most new Colt receivers need, then it might be ok. I know for sure you can't run an RDIAS in an AR-10, it needs a longer trip to work, and the ATF says it's a no go since it's not an AR-15. First step is to see if it would work. Second step ask the ATF if it's ok. But yeah this rifle is kind of in a gray area. I think the ATF would go for it if a standard unmodified RDIAS will work though. |

I took a couple of extra days to get the video together because I took the 901 down to Portland to shoot with a buddy...
