Okay, I did the search and know this is an older model but...after that I can't find anything.

Colt AR-15 SP-1
No forward assist
No shell deflector
Triangle handguards
20" thin barrel
3K rounds down the barrel.
at least 15 years old.

What is it?  What might it be worth (90%)

Thanks,
Bill

why pay more than 800-900 for it when you can have a brand new one with all the goodies in september?

What type of flash hider?

Typically, SP1's go between $1200-$1400 complete. OF course, depends on overall condition, condition of bore, etc.

Pics are worth a thousand words.... or sometimes a couple hundred $$$ in difference.

I recently shelled out $1224.99 for a compete SP1 Lower with 6 position collapsible stock, and it has never been fired, so new condition.

My paperweight (at least for now):

Go here for good Colt info:

Colt SP1's in 90% are worth around $900 to $1200.  Even after the ban ends, they will likely stay right around the $1000 mark, they just wont be so sought after for "preban projects" since those will be a thing of the past.

Thanks for the info...I haven't seen it yet...trying to get him to forward me pics...
NAM:
he says that it does not have the 3 prong flash hider but that it has the slotted type.
He bought it from a buddy in 1983 who had it before him but did not shoot it...he says he has maybe 3K rounds through it.
Thanks again!
