Is the LPK for a Colt Sporter any different than a "standard" LPK from DPMS or RRA?  The take down and pivot pins are the same dia...  What else might be "odd"?

Yes, trigger and hammer pins and holes are larger than mil-spec.   I should also add the hammer and trigger holes are larger also. No-brainer but I thought I would add this.

Hmmm...  I'll have to check that again.  When "unscientifically" compared this Sporter kit with a DPMS kit, I took the pins fron the Colt kit and slid them into the trigger and hammer from the DPMS kit.  There seemed to be even more "slop" in this config...  Time to get out the mic I guess...

Data forthcoming...

ETA:

Pins from both kits measure .154" dia.  but length is different with the DPMS pin at .903 and the COLT pin at .922 in length...  Aside from that, there seems to be NO other differences...  Weird...

I never measured but have always been under the impression they are larger.

I thought that starting with the "Match Target" line the pins were bigger. My Sporter 2 lower had standard fire control pins.

That must be what this kit is for...  Unfortunately, I don't have a spare "mil-spec" lower to test this on.  But in comparison...  The "sporter" parts I have, appear identical to the DPMS kit...

The trigger and hammer do look different,  Especially the machined engagement points at the disconnect and sear...

I believe, but am not certain, that pin sizes go something like this:

If the lower has the large (.312) take down pin, it has standard fire control pins (.155)

If the lower has the standard (.250) take down pin, it has oversize FC pins (.174)

This has been my experience anyway.

Again...  This kit seems to be the exception to that rule...  Both take down and pivot pins measure out at .249, with FCG pins at .154...  Weird...  AGAIN!!
